The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) was launched in 2015. This housing initiative by the Government of India has already completed two phases in the past four years. How to apply for PMAY Scheme?

There are two ways of applying for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. You can either fill the  Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana form online or you can apply for the scheme offline through Common Service Centre (CSC). Either way, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana registration process is really simple. You just need the proper documents with you and you’ll be fine.

Here is a brief description of both the processes of the application.

Online application:

Applicants need to visit the official website of PMAY. They need to have a valid Aadhaar Card to apply.

Offline application

For those who want to apply for the scheme offline, you can visit your nearby Common Service Centre (CSC) and filling the relevant form. You will have to pay a nominal price of Rs. 25 + GST for the form.

  1. Aadhaar card
  2. Identity proof
  3. Residential proof
  4. Caste/Community certificate
  5. Economically Weaker Section certificate or Low Income Group certificate
  6. Proof of nationality
  7. Bank account details
  8. Salary Slip
  9. Income Tax Return statements
  10. Statement of proof that the beneficiary does not own a pucca house.

How to Apply PMAY Online (For Slum Dwellers )

Make sure to go through Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana details and get the documents ready before you proceed with the application. Once you’ve done that, here are the steps which you need to follow:

  1. Visit the official website of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (https://pmaymis.gov.in)
  2. Select the ‘For Slum Dwellers’ option from the ‘Citizen Assessment’ dropdown.
  3. Enter Aadhaar number and click submit.
  4. Once the Aadhar number is checked and verified, you will move to the next page where you have to provide further details about yourself.
  5. Type the captcha code in the box and click submit.

How to Apply PMAY Online (For Beneficiaries Under Other 3 Components )

Similar to the previous procedure, applicants for ‘Benefits under the other 3 components’ need to provide their personal details to apply for the scheme. Here are the steps that need to be followed for the application:

  1. Visit the official website of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (https://pmaymis.gov.in)
  2. Select the ‘Benefits under other 3 components’ option from the ‘Citizen Assessment’ dropdown.
  3. Enter Aadhaar number and click submit.
  4. Once the Aadhar number is checked and verified, you will move to the next page where you have to provide further details about yourself.
  5. Type the captcha code in the box and click submit.
